Insurance Information

Understanding your orthodontic benefits should be part of planning your treatment. Citrus Grove Orthodontics accepts PPO insurance plans and select HMO providers. Before you begin, our team can review your plan information and explain the estimated insurance contribution and your remaining responsibility.

Plan participation, network status and orthodontic coverage can differ. Contact our Orange or Whittier office with your insurance details so we can check the specific plan you have.

Coverage varies by plan. Benefits are subject to verification, and your insurer makes the final coverage decision.

How We Assist Our Patients

Coverage varies by plan, and benefits are subject to verification.

What to check in your orthodontic benefits

A dental plan may cover routine dental visits without including braces or clear aligners. Even when orthodontic benefits are available, the amount payable depends on the policy. Ask for the orthodontic benefit details, not just the general dental coverage summary.

  • Eligibility: Does the plan cover the patient’s age group, including adults?
  • Benefit limits: Is there an orthodontic lifetime maximum, and has any of it already been used?
  • Patient share: What deductible, percentage or copayment applies?
  • Timing: Are there waiting periods, approval requirements or limits on treatment already in progress?
  • Provider rules: Does your plan require a participating orthodontist or a referral?

Bring these details to your consultation

Have your insurance card, member and group numbers, subscriber information and any orthodontic benefit documents available. If you have more than one dental plan, tell the team about both. Benefits do not necessarily add together; the insurers determine how the plans coordinate.

Already wearing braces or aligners? Bring the name of your previous orthodontist and any information about benefits paid toward that treatment. Let us know if your insurance may change during treatment so we can discuss the questions to raise with your insurer.

Understanding your estimate and payment options

Our team can help review benefits and discuss payment arrangements for your proposed care. Before accepting a plan, ask for an explanation of the treatment fee, estimated insurance payment, expected personal balance and available payment schedule. Ask what is included in the fee and which services could be billed separately.

Benefit verification provides an estimate; payment depends on the insurer’s final review. Your insurer makes the final coverage decision. No specific monthly payment, interest rate or insurance reimbursement is promised on this page; the team will explain the options available for your circumstances.

Insurance questions patients often ask

Does accepting my insurance mean every treatment is covered?

No. Accepting a plan does not establish coverage for a particular patient or appliance. The office must check the policy and proposed care, including any network or authorization requirements.

Can adults use orthodontic benefits?

Some plans include adult orthodontics, while others limit benefits by age. Ask your insurer about your own policy before relying on a benefit for adult braces or Invisalign.

Can I schedule if I do not have orthodontic coverage?

Yes. You can request a consultation and discuss treatment costs and available payment options directly with the team. An evaluation gives you an opportunity to understand the recommendation before deciding how to proceed.

What should I ask if I change plans?

Ask the new insurer how it handles treatment in progress and whether previous payments affect your remaining benefit. Notify our office of changes rather than assuming the original estimate will stay the same.
