Invisalign for Teens

Invisalign for Teens

Your teen wants a great smile, but they’re not exactly thrilled about the idea of metal braces. We get it. Invisalign for Teens gives them a way to straighten their teeth with clear, removable aligners that are practically invisible. At Citrus Grove Orthodontics, we’ve helped teens across Whittier and Orange County get amazing results with Invisalign, and we’d love to do the same for yours.

Clear Aligners Designed with Teens in Mind

Invisalign Teen works the same way as regular Invisalign, using a series of custom-made clear aligners that gradually shift teeth into place. But it’s been designed with a few teen-specific features that make a real difference. There are compliance indicators built into the aligners so you (and your teen) can tell if they’re being worn enough. And because we know things happen, each treatment includes a set of replacement aligners in case one gets lost.

One of the biggest perks? The aligners come out for eating, brushing, and flossing. That means no food restrictions, no complicated cleaning routines, and no worrying about brackets breaking during a soccer game. Your teen can keep living their life while their smile gets better every day.

Treatment usually takes about 12 to 18 months, and your teen will swap to a new set of aligners every one to two weeks. We’ll check in every six to eight weeks to make sure everything is tracking the way it should.

Is Your Teen Ready for Invisalign?

Invisalign works best when your teen is on board with wearing the aligners 20 to 22 hours a day and remembering to pop them back in after meals. That’s really the biggest thing. If your teen can handle that kind of routine they’ll do great with Invisalign. But every teen is different and there’s no pressure to figure it out on your own. We’ll sit down with you and your child at the consultation and get a feel for what makes the most sense for them. If Invisalign isn’t the right fit we’ll find something that is.

Frequently Asked Questions About Invisalign for Teens

Is my teen a good candidate for Invisalign?

Most teens are great candidates for Invisalign, especially if they're dealing with mild to moderate crowding, spacing, or bite issues. The main thing is that your teen needs to be responsible enough to wear the aligners 20 to 22 hours a day. We'll evaluate their specific situation during a free consultation and let you know if Invisalign is the right fit.

What if my teen loses an aligner?

It happens, and that's okay. Invisalign Teen includes a set of replacement aligners for exactly this reason. If an aligner goes missing, just give us a call and we'll get them sorted out quickly so treatment stays on track.

Can my teen play sports with Invisalign?

Absolutely. One of the great things about Invisalign is that the aligners can be removed for sports. We do recommend wearing a mouthguard during contact sports for extra protection, but there are no brackets or wires to worry about.

How much does Invisalign for Teens cost?

The cost is comparable to traditional braces and depends on the complexity of your teen's case. We offer free consultations, accept most insurance plans, and have flexible payment options to make treatment accessible. No financial surprises here.

Will Invisalign affect my teen's speech?

There might be a very brief adjustment period where your teen notices a slight lisp, but it usually goes away within a day or two. Most teens adapt quickly and find that the aligners don't affect their speech at all.
